Sewing the
block rows
- Referring to the Quilt Diagram to the right,
arrange blocks as desired in 4 rows of 3 blocks each for the throw
quilt, or 5 rows of 4 blocks each for the twin quilt. Sew row of
blocks together, alternating blocks with sashing strips (yellow in
picture), and starting and ending with sashing strips. Repeat for
all rows.
Sewing
the sashing Rows - -Again referring to the diagram, sew three sashing strips
together (four for twin quilt), alternating with cornerstone
squares (blue in diagram), and starting & ending with cornerstone
squares. Repeat to make 5 sashing rows for the throw quilt or 6
sashing rows for the twin quilt.

the rows together
- Sew block rows and sashing rows alternately together, starting
and ending with sashing rows.
Preparing the border - Sew
border strips together to make one long strip (diagonal seams
allowed for in strip requirement calculation).
Applying
side border
- Measure the length of your quilt top
from top to bottom, through the center of the quilt. Cut two
outside border strips this length. Sew these strips to the
sides of the quilt.
Applying
top & bottom border
- Measure the width, from side to
side, of your quilt top. Cut two outside border strips this
length. Sew the strips to the top and bottom of the quilt.
